British Citizenship/Naturalisation
In order to make a British Citizenship application in the UK, also known as Naturalisation as a British Citizen, you must meet the following requirements:
British Citizenship based on residence in the UK for at least 6 years.
You must demonstrate that you:

Have been resident in the UK for at least 6 years.
Have held Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) status for at least the most recent 12-month period.
Are able to communicate effectively in the English language.
Have not spent more than 90 days outside the UK during any 12-month period during the 6-year qualifying period.
Are at least 18 years of age.
Are of ' good character' and not have been in breach of immigration rules during the qualifying period.
British Citizenship based on marriage to a British Citizen
Have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years.
Have held Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) status for at least the most recent 12-month period.
Have not spent more than 90 days outside the UK during any 12-month period during the 3-year qualifying period.
Have not have been in breach of immigration rules during the qualifying period.
Once approved you will have the right to apply for a British Passport and this will allow significant ease of movement across various borders and territories, along with the continued right to live and work in the UK. This means the end of continued visa applications and uncertainty and represents the end of a long journey for many people.
